New School Year

The new school year has started and Savannah is officially in kindergarten! Her teacher is Mrs. Boronat and she seems to be really enjoying her class. Which is a relief to me because when S was in pre-k last year it took her till December to become fully adjusting, meaning she wouldn't cry when she got out of the car. She hated nap time and this year she said to me, "my nap time is too short". :) On the first day of school she happily hopped out of the car and said bye. She was ready and excited. She is also doing VERY well reading. She LOVES to read. Which is a relief to me because I was never really a reader. She reads whatever she can put her hands on. One of her favorite reads is a series called Junie B. She has two of those books and she loves them. We like reading them together.

Austin has started a new year school moving up into the toddler room. I was kind of sad because that just means my baby boy is growing up. He is really enjoying his new room. Austin is really at a fun age. He is a wild from the time he wakes up till he goes to sleep, but can be the sweetest thing too. He definitely keeps us on our toes.

Catching up on pictures

I found a blog app for my iPhone, so I figured I would have a better chance on keeping up my precious family blog. Especially now that I am a working girl :)

These are some pictures that are pretty recent of the babes. Austin has a big boy haircut now and Savannah was Jasmine for Halloween. Austin is 14 months and loving daycare (when he not sick) and Savannah is loving pre k ( when it's not nap time).

Fathers Day

This past Sunday was Fathers day. We got so lucky because usually Corey has to work on Sunday's, but he decided to take Sunday off! We got to spend the whole day with him, which was very nice.

Fathers day morning I got up with Austin and finished decorating my cake. When I asked Savannah what she wanted to get her daddy this year she replied, "a tie". I thought that was so cute because Corey doesn't really wear ties. Maybe she saw this on TV. So I decided to make a Tie cake. I made a 9x13 cake and decorated it like a white collared shirt with a tie (well that is what it is was suppose to be :) ). So I frosted my cake and outlined the tie and let Savannah decorate the tie anyway she wanted. She also picked the accent color, pink! So the tie was decorated in pink icing and green sugar crystals. It was so yummy! Anyways, after decorating, I made breakfast. Corey requested scrambled eggs, sausage (I used turkey), grits, and biscuits. I also made some bacon. It was such a good breakfast. Then Corey opened his presents: two shirts and a new GA Tech flag for our garden flag holder. It was a great morning. When we eventually got ready we went over to Corey's dads house and hung out there for lunch. It was a great Fathers day and we are so lucky to have a daddy that loves us so much!

Our tie cake and presents. The left side says Savannah and the right says Austin.

We are so lucky to have a Gigi (my grandmother) that takes the time to make Savannah beautiful dresses. The other day Savannah received a package and she knew it was a dress from Gigi. :)

Corey wanted Savannah to wear her new dress that Gigi made. Austin is teething very badly, so he is making this sucking face a lot.

This is Savannah's best friend Avery (Rachel's daughter). Aren't they so cute?!

5 Year Anniversary

May 15th 2009, Corey and I celebrated 5 years being together. It has been a great 5 years, yes there has been some hard times, but that is what being married is all about. My mom came over and stayed with the kiddos and we had a great evening! He surprised me with a couples massage and then had a yummy dinner at a Japanese restaurant. I love you Corey and I cant wait to celebrate our 10 year anniversary!
I am a little greasy from the massage ;)

Savannah's last day of School

I know Savannah's last day of school was at the beginning of May, but I wanted to post the pictures from the end of the year party. I cant believe my little girl is going into Pre-K!

They had water day outside.

How cute is this cupcake!?!

Garden

I have a garden! As I wrote earlier, I really wanted to do this, but as of the first of June I really had not made any attempt :) Savannah was hanging out with her Papa (Corey's dad) and he was getting some materials to make Savannah a little garden at his house. He has a huge wonderful garden. Savannah said she wanted to make the garden at her house, so he made it! I am really excited because I think I talk better than I actually do. So I need just make sure I water it and soon I will have home grown fresh vegetables. I will also save a lot of money :) Savannah and her Papa planted cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and cucumbers.

Austin is pulling up and standing everywhere! For some reason he loves to stand next to the toilet (gross!). So we have to keep an eye on that stinker. He is getting into everything. I love this age!

If you look real close you can see Austins two bottom teeth.

Catching Up

This post will be dedicated to catching up! It will be everything that has been happening here the past month.

We went to the Renaissance Festival with Dina and Aunt Paulina. Savannah had a blast! It took me a little bit to relax and finally have a good time, but I eventually was able too. I stood in line for 40 minutes for the ATM because apparently I did not know that everything is only cash. That was my fault, oh well ;) Also, I did not anticipate that the whole Festival grounds would be up and down hills made of rocks, it was a bit difficult to push around the stroller. But Savannah had a great time and that is all that matters. Next time if we go it will definitely be when I do not have to push around a stroller.

About a week ago Savannah informed me that she was having a wedding, so I played along. She called Corey at work to invite him to her wedding. When she was on the phone with him I laid Austin down for a nap when I came back into the living room Savannah had her face in the couch crying! I asked what was wrong and that time Corey was calling back. Savannah blurted out, "Daddy said I was tooooo yooooouuuunnnnnnggg!!!". I yelled at Corey to play along. He then proceeded to tell his phone conversation...Savannah-Daddy I have a baby in my belly and I am getting married. Daddy-your too young to have a baby in your belly. Savannah then hung up on him. I laughed so hard! I then explained to Savannah that she is too young to have a baby and when she grows up, after she gets married, she can have a baby. This was so cute. So, anyways the next morning Savannah got ready for her wedding and walked down the aisle.

Austin is sitting up. He started doing it around 6.5 months. He is also getting better at crawling around. He is growing so fast, I can hardly stand it! He finally had is 6 month check up and he is a perfect little boy. Weight 22 lbs 4 oz. 95% (I know he is huge!) Ht 22"96% Head 18" 88%. He is my healthy chunky monkey!
