Her teacher is Mrs. Boronat and she seems to be really enjoying her class. Which is a relief to me because when S was in pre-k last year it took her till December to become fully adjusting, meaning she wouldn't cry when she got out of the car. She hated nap time and this year she said to me, "my nap time is too short". :) On the first day of school she happily hopped out of the car and said bye. She was ready and excited. She is also doing VERY well reading. She LOVES to read. Which is a relief to me because I was never really a reader. She reads whatever she can put her hands on. One of her favorite reads is a series called Junie B. She has two of those books and she loves them. We like reading them together.

(photo taken by Corey when he took S and A to Yellow River Game Ranch over the summer)

Austin has started a new year school moving up into the toddler room. I was kind of sad because that just means my baby boy is growing up. He is really enjoying his new room. Austin is really at a fun age. He is a wild from the time he wakes up till he goes to sleep, but can be the sweetest thing too. He definitely keeps us on our toes.

Catching up on pictures

I found a blog app for my iPhone, so I figured I would have a better chance on keeping up my precious family blog. We got so lucky because usually Corey has to work on Sunday's, but he decided to take Sunday off! We got to spend the whole day with him, which was very nice.

Fathers day morning I got up with Austin and finished decorating my cake. When I asked Savannah what she wanted to get her daddy this year she replied, "a tie". I thought that was so cute because Corey doesn't really wear ties. Maybe she saw this on TV. So I decided to make a Tie cake. I made a 9x13 cake and decorated it like a white collared shirt with a tie (well that is what it is was suppose to be :) ). So I frosted my cake and outlined the tie and let Savannah decorate the tie anyway she wanted. She also picked the accent color, pink! So the tie was decorated in pink icing and green sugar crystals. It was so yummy! Anyways, after decorating, I made breakfast. Corey requested scrambled eggs, sausage (I used turkey), grits, and biscuits. I also made some bacon. It was such a good breakfast. Then Corey opened his presents: two shirts and a new GA Tech flag for our garden flag holder. It was a great morning. When we eventually got ready we went over to Corey's dads house and hung out there for lunch. It was a great Fathers day and we are so lucky to have a daddy that loves us so much!

Corey with his two babies. Savannah is 4 and Austin is 8 months.

Our tie cake and presents. As I wrote earlier, I really wanted to do this, but as of the first of June I really had not made any attempt :) Savannah was hanging out with her Papa (Corey's dad) and he was getting some materials to make Savannah a little garden at his house. He has a huge wonderful garden. Savannah said she wanted to make the garden at her house, so he made it! I am really excited because I think I talk better than I actually do. So I need just make sure I water it and soon I will have home grown fresh vegetables. I will also save a lot of money :) Savannah and her Papa planted cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and cucumbers.

A row of zucchini, squash, and tomatoes

Cucumber plant

Austin is pulling up and standing everywhere! It will be everything that has been happening here the past month.

We went to the Renaissance Festival with Dina and Aunt Paulina. Savannah had a blast! It took me a little bit to relax and finally have a good time, but I eventually was able too. I stood in line for 40 minutes for the ATM because apparently I did not know that everything is only cash. That was my fault, oh well ;) Also, I did not anticipate that the whole Festival grounds would be up and down hills made of rocks, it was a bit difficult to push around the stroller. But Savannah had a great time and that is all that matters. Next time if we go it will definitely be when I do not have to push around a stroller.

About a week ago Savannah informed me that she was having a wedding, so I played along. She called Corey at work to invite him to her wedding. When she was on the phone with him I laid Austin down for a nap when I came back into the living room Savannah had her face in the couch crying! I asked what was wrong and that time Corey was calling back. Savannah blurted out, "Daddy said I was tooooo yooooouuuunnnnnnggg!!!". I yelled at Corey to play along. He then proceeded to tell his phone conversation...Savannah-Daddy I have a baby in my belly and I am getting married. Daddy-your too young to have a baby in your belly. Savannah then hung up on him. I laughed so hard! I then explained to Savannah that she is too young to have a baby and when she grows up, after she gets married, she can have a baby. This was so cute. So, anyways the next morning Savannah got ready for her wedding and walked down the aisle.

Austin is sitting up. The Easter bunny came to our house and Savannah had a lot of fun finding things for her basket. The Easter bunny brought a pack of diapers for Austin. Hee Hee. My mom came over and brought Savannah a ton of beautiful dresses/outfits. She is also the one who brought the pack of diapers, but it was a fun day. We went over to papa's and mimi's and had a family dinner. Aunt Casey and Uncle Paul were there, so Savannah had a lot of fun playing with her cousins.

The Easter basket she made at school was so cute!

Some of Savannah's friends (Charlotte and one of the twins (Peyton or Regan, I can't tell them apart))

Savannah posing with her Easter goodies

Austin with his pack of diapers :)

Our hard boiled eggs

Its such hard work cleaning after a big Easter breakfast :)

I also wanted to include a picture of Austin when he started eating solids way back when. Its a indoor jumping place and lots of fun for the kiddies and adults too! The beautiful cake was made my Crystal (friend/cousin). The RSV went away about 2 weeks ago, but he still had a ear infection. He finished his 10 day dosing of Omnicef a few days ago. We went to the Doctor today and he was finally able to get his 4 month immunizations. He has been so sick that we had to put them on hold. He will be 5 months old this weekend, better late than never! ;) His 6 month immunizations will be a bit behind too because the Doctor said that we need to wait at least 6 weeks for his next immunizations.

He is such a BIG boy. He weighed a little over 18lbs. at his 4 month check up and now he is 19.25lbs! He is wanting to be just like his daddy.

Savannah Grace Turns 4!

We celebrated Savannah's birthday last Tuesday on the the 3rd. We started the day with M&M smiley face pancakes and sung her "Happy Birthday". She went off to school and then Corey, Austin, and I brought cupcakes to her class. I MADE the cupcakes, yes MADE them! They were Tinkerbell cupcakes, with funfetti cake mix, white butter cream icing, green sugar crystals and a Tinkerbell ring (I am writing down the description because silly me forgot to take a picture). When school was over we went to McDonald's, so she could play. I wanted her to have as much fun during the day because of course I had school and had a test that night. When we got home she opened her presents: art easel, finger paint, Mary Poppins DVD, Kung Fu Panda DVD, and Wall-E DVD. Corey went a little crazy on the DVDs :) Oh well, anything for his princess. Later that evening I made what Savannah requested for dinner, Shrimp Alfredo with broccoli (she didn't request the broccoli part, but I had to make something healthy ;) ). After I went to school, Savannah and Corey continued to play on the easel, watched Mary Poppins and Wall-E. They had a great evening.

About Savannah:

Favorite Foods/Snacks: Ribs, Shrimp Alfredo, Peanut Butter and Honey sandwiches, goldfish, pretzels, bananas, grapes, mashed potatoes, broccoli, scooby doo go-gurts, popcorn

Favorite Hobbies: Talking on the phone, playing dress up/princess, Nintendo DS, Hide n Seek, Dancing, singing, reading (she loves books), craft time

Loves: Anything Disney Princess and Tinkerbell, being a big sister

Favorite Stuffed Animal: Pink bunny rabbit named, Pinky. I really wanted Savannah to enjoy it and we did! It started coming down early afternoon this past Sunday and when I got Austin down for his nap we got ready to go. Savannah had two layers of pants, two warm sweaters, her rain boots, scarf, hat, and mittens on. She was ready. We had a snow ball fight and when it got too cold we went in and enjoyed hot cocoa, popcorn, and a movie. I loved watching it from the inside. ;) All together, I believe we had about a 1.5 - 2 inches. When Corey got home that night they went back out and played in it for a few minutes. I rather stay inside and enjoy it. Its cold! Hopefully, we will get more snow next year, so Austin can enjoy it too.

This picture was so funny, I did like 50 of these shots and I just wanted to do one more. When Savannah was a baby I believe we got it out too late because it feels like as soon as we put it together it was too late and we had to put it up. I was looking at a blog who's son is a few weeks younger than Austin and she had her son in his jumping thing. I had a "aha" moment and knew we had to get it down from the attic. Austin LOVES it! I think he might enjoy this toy a lot longer than Savannah did.

Corey helping Austin out

Update on Austin's RSV...

I took Austin to the doctor on Wednesday to do a re-check of RSV and his ears. Also last week he never did get his 4 month checkup because he was so sick, so we were hoping that he would get them at this visit. He did not have a temperature and his oxygen levels were at 97, which is good. His breathing is great and the wheezing has stopped. We don't have to do the breathing treatments anymore, only as needed. He still has an ear infection, so we got a new antibiotic for that, which he will be on for 10 days. The shots had to be put on hold this week too because of the ear infection. We will go back in 2 weeks and hopefully he will be able to get his shots then. When Austin was first diagnosed with RSV I was concerned about Savannah, but the nurse said that if she did get it, it would only be a cold. Savannah started coughing a few days ago, so hopefully it wont be anything serious. We will see.

A few random things that have been going 0n:

I participated in my first consignment sale. I believe it was a success. I sold 28 things out of 55! I am thinking that Austin might be our last, so I thought that we shouldn't keep all of our baby stuff and we have a lot! I did not even get to go through all the totes before the deadline of entering the items in. I did, however, hold off on selling the bassinet. For some reason, I am not ready to part with that yet :) You never know I guess. ;) I have also been able to find a lot of great deals on the kids clothes. I found a lot for Austin, but for Savannah not so much. I am very picky and didn't see so much for her.

Aunt Casey (Corey's sister) brought over a pink Jeep Barbie power wheels the other day. We have been wanting to get Savannah one, but they are so darn expensive! We never could find a good used one. Thanks Aunt Casey! Savannah loves it. The night she got it she was a bit leery because it was dark outside, but the next day Corey took her out and loved it! She got her baby doll, Emma, in it too. Now she asks to go outside and ride it all the time. :)

Recently, I have been really into finding blogs on how to save more money and I have found a great one: savingyourcents.blogspot.com. She is local, so the stores and sales she talks about are the ones that I can find easily. I have been obsessed with looking at these type blogs and learning how to save money. With this economy and me not working because I am in school, we HAVE to be more frugal. I am also going to attempt (yes, I said attempt) to have a plantar garden. I believe in our neighborhood, because of convinces, we cant have a garden, so I am going to make a little one in a plantar. I talked to my granddad and he says I could do tomatoes and bell peppers easily. Which is good, because these things are pretty expensive in the grocery stores. I am excited. I have to wait until the last frost which should be about April 15, then I will get started. I will let you know how it goes :)

Austin is 4 months old!

Austin turned 4 months old 2-14-09 (Valentines Day). The day started out not so good. This past week he has been sick with a runny nose and a bad cough. Friday night he coughed so hard that he threw up. When we were cleaning him up we noticed that his breathing was really bad. It was like when he was born and his lung collapsed. I took him to the doctor first thing Saturday morning and they ran some tests on him and poor baby has RSV! Its a respiratory infectetion. Its highly contagious, so our original plans of watching our neighbors son, Jackson, were not going to happen. He is almost 2 and we were going to watch him so his mommy and daddy could go eat a yummy dinner. Anyways, Austin has a ear infection also, so he is on antibiotics and a breathing treatment. The doctor (who I loved) said that we could treat Austin at home because he is getting good oxygen levels. What a relief! We have to go back on Monday. Austin is doing his breathing treatments pretty well and is doing great. He is acting really good for being so sick. The breathing treatment makes him really hyper. So it was fun putting him on the floor and just letting him play. He started rolling over! We got is weight checked at the doctors and Austin is 18 lbs. He is my big boy.

Right after he rolled over.

My dad came over for Valentine's Day dinner. I made homemade shrimp alfredo. I even went out and caught my own shrimp (just kidding). Thanks grandmom for the recipe! It was a great evening to a hectic day. Dinner was yummy and we all just relaxed.

A few weeks ago, I celebrated my 27 birthday! I had a huge test on my birthday so, it wasn't excatly how I pictured my day, but it was still a good day. I studied all day long. I took a break for lunch and we all went to Longhornes. We used a gift card we got for Christmas. I love restaurant gift cards! Corey and Savannah made a quick dinner for me and got me a cake. Then I was off to school. I love my family so much! I hope everyone had a great Valentines day.

What a week...

Corey had his procedure on Tuesday and everything has gone well. He had been resting and trying to get better all week. Meanwhile, I have been taking care of the home front. Kay was able to come and stay with us Monday and Tuesday night, so that made it a little easier, especially since I have to go to school Tuesday and Thursday nights. My mom also came over Tuesday night. Corey's dad was able to come over Thursday night, so I could go to school. Savannah and Austin have been great this week.

Savannah informed me that she wanted to move. I asked here where and she told me in our neighborhood. I told her that we already live here and she said, "no, I want to live next to Jackson". Jackson is our back neighbor. She told me she wants a bigger house and next time she wants her room pink, our room purple, and Austin's room gray. What a stinker! :) It was a pretty cute conversation.

Playstation 3 a blessing in disguise?

I have to tell you about Corey's new toy. Its a Playstation 3. Corey saved his Christmas money and went out and got it and Rockband. I was not thrilled at all about it. In fact, I gave him BIG grief about it. If he was going to use his Christmas money on something like that I would have preferred the Wii. I just figured that the Wii was more family friendly, but I knew Corey had been talking about a Playstation 3 forever, so getting the Wii was pretty much out of the question. So, we got home from Walmart and he started setting it up, meanwhile, I was huffing and puffing and giving him a hard time. After Savannah went to bed we talked about it and I realized that he works very hard for our family and if a Playstation 3 is what the man wants then a Playstation 3 will be fine with me.

How its a blessing:

1. It made me realize how much Corey does for our family. He is a great dad and a great husband. Pretty much everything he does is for us. (Well, I already knew this, it just reminded me again :) )

2. Rockband is fun! Savannah is having a blast with it. She loves to play the drums. I sing and Corey does the guitar. We have been having great family time with it believe it or not.

3. I realized I can really be a baby about things.

Don't get me wrong probably the only thing I will play on it is Rockband, but we are having a blast doing it. Maybe when the kiddies get bigger we will get a Wii :)

On a side note, Austin is sleeping through the night...yeah!!! He has been doing it for about 2 weeks now. We usually lay him down after his last bottle anywhere from 7-10 pm and he wont wake up until around 7-8 am. We are all grateful of that! He has also started laughing at 2.5 months. Only Corey has been able to get a good giggle out of him, but it is so sweet. I am always asking Corey to make him laugh. We love listening to it, its like music to hear our children laugh.

Celebrating Christmas and a happy baby

I really have been slacking on my blogging, but better late than never :) We had a wonderful holiday. Savannah was so into Christmas this year. She was understanding that the holiday was about Jesus and one of the perks was having a visit from Santa. My mom, brother, and my sister's family came over Christmas Eve and we had a wonderful dinner together. Corey's mom had told us about "Hi NORAD". You literally call this number and speak to one of Santa's dispatchers and the person tells you where Santa is at that moment and when he will be at your house. We called that number all day long Christmas Eve until the very last minute of Savannah going to bed. Paulina and Savannah made cookies for Santa and when it was time we put milk, cookies, and an orange for the reindeers. It was so much fun! When I was telling Savannah goodnight she asked me, "when does the sun come out?" I said, "about 5 or so." She said, "oh, okay that is what time I will be get up." I was like okay. Of course she didnt get up ast 5. It was about 8:30 and Corey and I woke her up. We were excited. :) After opening presents we made a gourmet breakfast. Challah french toast and ham. It was yummy. For lunch we went over to Corey's dads house and then for dinner we went to Casey's house. It was a great day, but one day I would love to just stay at home all day.

First family photo

Savannah and Pete at my grandmothers waiting to open there presents

Christmas morning

Our wonderful breakfast

The next week was New Years and we didn't do anything. The night before New Years Eve we were in the ER from 9:40 pm to 8 am. I had been experiencing some pain in my stomach. It felt like I had food poising, but it wasnt it was just a bacterial infection in my stomach. GROSS. So by the time midnight came Corey and I were in bed and shortley after the clock turned 12 we were asleep.

Austin is doing great. He has been sleeping through the night. Yeah! He has been a happy baby boy. I love listening to way Savannah talks to him. Her eyes get wide and her voice gets really hight pitch and she says "hey big boy, are you awake?", she says it over and over again. It is so funny!
We love our baby boy!

Christmas Musical, Night of Lights, and Candy Making

This past week and half has been crazy around here. Last Tuesday was Savannah's Christmas musical and it was so cute. Savannah did great and loved being on stage. She loves to entertain. Afterwords there was a little Christmas party in her classroom and I got to see all the great crafts she has been making and then Ms. Sue (her teacher) handed me a homemade Christmas card from Savannah with a key chain with her picture in it. It is so sweet! I love it so much.

Mrs. Sue

Mrs. Michelle

I love this picture of Savannah.

Savannah and her best friends in school, Payton and Reagan.

Since Corey and I are both out of school this month we have been taking full advantage of every minute we can. We had a lot of fun making candy together. Corey loves peanut butter balls, so I found a recipe. It was very hard to make. We knew it should not have been so hard, so after talking with Corey's aunt Kim we figured out that the recipe I found was not the best one to use. The balls still turned out yummy though. A friend of mine, Paige, came over the other day and we made some more candy and brownies. She came up with chocolate covered graham crackers with Andes chocolate on top and they are so delicious! We had a great time and Savannah helped every step of the way.

A really fun thing that we did was go to Lake Lanier's Night of Lights. We new we wanted to go because Savannah has been "owing and awing" over all the neighborhood lights, so we knew she would enjoy the Night of Lights and Corey and I did too! There was a live Nativity scene with hot chocolate. Savannah loved it. Later on we roasted marshmallows over a open fire. It was so much fun.

Christmas is this week and we are so excited. For some reason that is such a holiday thing to do in my mind. The other day Corey and I were out and Corey decided to get one. I was so excited. I couldn't wait until Savannah saw it. We picked her up from school and I opened my mouth about it. It was the first thing that we did when we got home that day. This little kit was amazing! It provided everything you needed and then some. We had enough candy to munch on while building the house and enough icing to squirt on Savannah's fingers every now and again and enough to squirt in her mouth ;) Hey its the holidays. he he.

Before we got started.

Notice Savannah's hand. Her whole hand was in her mouth :)

The icing on her face is from the icing fight we got into.

We have so much going on in the month of December. We have something planned every weekend and almost everyday of the week. I was looking at my calendar and couldn't believe how busy we are! I am really excited about next Tuesday. Its Savannah's Christmas Musical and she has been practicing for weeks. The songs are so cute that they are singing:

Twinkle, Twinkle, Special Star,
Guiding Wise Men from afar,
Up above the world so bright
Shining on that special night.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Special Star,
Guiding Wise Men from afar.

The children will also be doing a duet with the Chipmunks, singing Deck the Halls and a lot more cute little verses. Savannah is understanding that Christmas is about the birth of Christ and it so sweet to listen to hear tell me about it. An awesome thing about the month of December is Corey and I are both out of school! I am so excited that Corey's off days will feel like real family time (when he is not doing side jobs).

We had pictures taken of the kids yesterday and it was an experience! I think Austin might of been a little too young. Oh well, we will try again. We managed to get a couple good poses. I will try and post them on her if I can.

Getting Ready For the Holidays

Our house-hold has been very busy these past few weeks. Thanksgiving was last week and the holidays are always so hectic for us because we have so many families to split our time with. This year we only saw my mom and Coreys moms side. It was Austin's first Thanksgiving. To bad he didn't get to eat any of the amazing food! The Friday after Thanksgiving Corey went to hunting camp for the whole weekend, so I decided to make Friday night girls night (with the exception of Austin). My sister, Paulina, Heather, and Charleigh came over and spent the night with us. Savannah and Charleigh played themselves until they couldn't play anymore. It was so much fun. We pigged out and watched TV together. Very relaxing.

Since we didn't get to decorate the house for Christmas before Corey left for the weekend. I wanted to do it as soon as he got back. We finally were able to get the house decorated yesterday. Our tree is gorgeous! Savannah was a huge part of decorating this year. We had on TV, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and when she needed a few minute break she would help out. She is really getting into the Christmas spirit. We have been talking about the birth of Jesus and what Christmas really means, but she is really enjoying stories about Santa too. I believe I grew up blessed in so many ways, but one way in particular knowing the Jewish religion as well as the christian ones too. So we have a Menorah as well as a Christmas tree. I have been trying to explain Hanukkah to Savannah as well.

Austin has been growing like a weed. A few weeks ago was his 1 month check up and everything was great. He is 11 1.5 pounds now! He has started smiling too. Savannah was a big baby too. We love chunky monkeys :) School finals are around the corner for Corey and I and we are so excited about our 1 month break! Very needed and well deserved.

Okay, so I am finally going to get this started. I don't even know where to begin. Lets try the beginning :) Corey and I met the summer of 2000 at a party and we hit it off right away. We have been together ever since. Corey and I were married March 15, 2004. Our ceremony was little but nice. We got pregnant with Savannah one month later. Talk about getting pregnant fast!

Savannah was born March 3, 2005, weighing 9 lbs 9 oz. Two weeks before she was born we moved into our first house. On October 14, 2008,weighing 7 lbs 11 oz., we welcomed our second child, Austin. Austin suffered from pneumothorex. The first 8 hours of his little life was spent in transition nursery because he was having a hard time breathing. He finally came to my room later that night and spent the whole night with me. The next day my nurse was going to get him treated for jaundice and as she undressed him she notice that the irregular breathing was back, by looking at his chest. She called the pediatrician and he ordered an x-ray. That is when it was discovered that his right lung had collapsed! Apparently, his lung tore sometime after birth and collapsed. He underwent immediate surgery and the doctors stuck a tube in his chest to suck out the air, so his lung could fix itself and Austin spent 4 days in NICU. We finally went home that Saturday night and Austin has been a healthy baby boy since. The doctors said that we should never have to worry about this problem again! Thank goodness.

Our days are spent with me staying at home with the kiddies and going to school at night. Corey works full time and goes to school at night too. Our lives get very hectic, but I try to remind myself that this is the best time of our lives. I am so blessed to be able to stay at home while I am in school. I hopefully will be done with school next July and then I will have to join the real world. So, right know I am loving it.
